“It is in the still silence of nature where we find true bliss.”

Hi friends!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted about my wanderings. I have some fun places coming up this year that I can’t wait to share! Last month Rachele and I went hiking at Cleburne State Park in Texas, and I’m just now getting a chance to write about it. My memory is still fresh from our adventure that day. It was my first hike of the year, and it was a beautiful sunny day! The trees were full of green leaves, the bluebonnets were in bloom, and the temperature was just right for a hike.
This hike is also on my 30 Hikes Before 30 List. I love finding new places to hike, so please comment your favorites below!
We started the afternoon with lunch at Chilis, then we road tripped to Cleburne to hike. One of my favorite things about State Parks is that the entry fee was just $5/day. Such a good deal for a whole day of hiking. Also I got these super cute overalls from PacSun recently, and I love this outfit! The hiking shoes are from Eddie Bauer. They have held up really well over the years, so I’d recommend his shoes.
We had moments of stillness and just taking in the sweet silence only the woods can give. We got to catch up on life, sing a few tunes, and laugh a lot too. Rachele is one of the only friends in my life that has seen me through some really hard times and stuck around. She is a great listener, and she is a one of a kind friend.
Being outside is definitely in my top 5 favorite things to do. I feel closest to God when I’m in nature. It’s how I refresh my spirit, and reconnect with myself while I disconnect from reality for a bit. It’s the best feeling to step away from the schedules and demands of life to just enjoy the day outside.
Some highlights:
I enjoyed every bit of this hike! Highly recommend this place. Where do you like to go for hiking? What are your hiking essentials?? Let me know in the comments!
